There, with my friend, we spent a couple of days in Wales. Hiking, scrambling along a ridge, passing under a waterfall... It was expectionnal and absolutely thrilling to try these new experiences (apart from hiking of course 😇)! The scenery was breathtaking, the colours -so vivid (expecially when the sun decides to make an appearance 🫠). I had been warned about one thing, though, and it definitely happened: the wind was insane! At one point, it almost knocked me off the mountain/ridge! 🌬️

Autumn is one of my most favourite parts of the year..well, I am not that sure when I write it. I love the change in nature, that every day is different - they are never the same. That is amazing. But autumn has something special and it is the smell of the forest. There is nothing alike. And the colours! And the sound of the falling leaves. And the colours! And the light softly appears between the trees. And the colours! Oh wow, I don't want to blink so I don't lose any mili-second beauty. Nature is very generous. In every part of the year we can appreciate different gifts..and in autumn it is, as one of many, the mushrooms! Dober dan! It's amazing how life can change in the blink of an eye. Not many months ago I was sitting in my room back in Argentina wondering which lessons would have the Universe for me this time. Before coming I asked the Universe for clarity and learning situations and (luckly) it granted me both in huge amounts. Now it's time to slowdown and wonder, to give myself time to process what we harvested ((LOTS of different apples)). This month was about harvesting what was planted and life got smoother, the high season is over and the warm weather is far gone, leadding to the beautiful colours and smells of Autumn (I must confess is one of my favourite seasons). I can proudly affirm from now and forever that here I reassured my ablity to adapt and flow even in the most caothic situations, there's an enormous resilience within me that I rediscover surfing Oktober vibes. "Na zdravje" to the insights and changes we are facing... Vidimo se! Yesterday was 'Apple Day' at the farm! :) Once a year, the farm opens up to customers, and the main event is... Apples! People can see the different crops on the farm and how it has evolved since their last visit. BUT, in the end, it's all about the tastings of the various apple varieties grown here (Natura for the win!!). 🤤 And there is also a local tradition: each of us bakes a recipe from our own country, apples-based of course!
As for me, I made a Flognarde aux Pommes (not really from my region but but we’re more into chestnut cakes than apple ones, oopsi 😅). It's basically a pie with a LOT of caramelized apples and plenty of butter! It was the first time trying this recipe and it turned out pretty good! I also made a compote to have kind of a 'side option' or for anyone with food specificities. All and all, I think I used nearly 4kg of apples to make both and it was totally worth it!! 🤤 Bon appétit!! |
