Yesterday was 'Apple Day' at the farm! :) Once a year, the farm opens up to customers, and the main event is... Apples! People can see the different crops on the farm and how it has evolved since their last visit. BUT, in the end, it's all about the tastings of the various apple varieties grown here (Natura for the win!!). 🤤 And there is also a local tradition: each of us bakes a recipe from our own country, apples-based of course!
As for me, I made a Flognarde aux Pommes (not really from my region but but we’re more into chestnut cakes than apple ones, oopsi 😅). It's basically a pie with a LOT of caramelized apples and plenty of butter! It was the first time trying this recipe and it turned out pretty good! I also made a compote to have kind of a 'side option' or for anyone with food specificities. All and all, I think I used nearly 4kg of apples to make both and it was totally worth it!! 🤤 Bon appétit!!
