Hi ecofriends, I'm Cristina, a Spanish agricultural engineering student who embarked on this project in search of practical knowledge about organic farming. I never felt comfortable with the conventional education system, I knew I had to reinvent myself and find my own ways to achieve professional success. I came to prove to myself that I was capable of achieving anything I set my mind to. Even with my low level of English and leaving my university studies aside, I took the risky decision to follow this ecological path, trusting in the Turinek experience and my own instinct. With all my enthusiasm for the new adventure I was about to experience, I arrived in Slovenia after missing every single train to the pick-up point (as expected :P) The first day we met the farm it was raining a lot, we were soaked but the illusion of being there together was bigger. The first sunny weekend we went on our first adventures and took our first photo The days were spent learning about the organisation of the farm and the daily chores, getting to know each other a little better and shying away from the cold in our warmer clothes. During the visits to our mentor we had intensive donkey cuddles sessions. We appropriated the concept of alpaca mood (°-°) and were introduced to how affectionate a goat can be (I love you goat) One stormy and cold day we stayed at Turinek's house selecting the good beens to separate them from the bad ones, that's when Maja realised that our musical preferences didn't correspond to our age and we decided to make bohemian rhapsody as the official anthem of our volunteering The first month was coming to an end, but the fence we were removing did not come to an end, sometimes our patience with it also came to an end, but never the jokes and anecdotes to share.
