It is more than clear that we need a connection between the civic community and agriculture
The association is a non-government non-profit organization with the aim to assist and help to evolve in all kinds of on-farm projects. Our goal is to be the bridge between the civic community and the agricultural knowledge in the field of:
vegetable production (more than 40 different vegetable species),
fruit production (apples, berries, nut-fruits),
field crop production (spelt, einkorn, emmer, kamut, millet, buckwheat, maize, etc.)
on a 80% self-sufficient farm project.
Apart from the farm experience we offer a wide variety of different projects for young people e.g. sustainable building, media work, seed production, excursions, work-shops ... The target groups are all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds (cultural and social-economic) with a clear focus in gaining knowledge of a sustainable daily life, which promotes the local environment and development. Our aim is to introduce our target groups to sustainable life skills and inter-cultural exchange.
Through the year we organize more than 11 on farm events: work-shops and seminars (on organic farming, special crops, effective modes of action in organic farming like the use of mulch); handcraft workshops (working with wood, the use of natural building materials, the set up of a "low-cost" greenhouse, how to maintain green hedges where animals and insect can have their living space, prunning of fruit trees, the set up and maintainance of a herb garden, a produce seeds myself, etc.), an oppen gate day of the farm and we host students, wwofers (Willing Workers on Organic Farms), scouts in a Job-shadowing project and other volunteers through the year. All in all there are on average 350 people experiencing the farm project on average yearly. The main goal is to create an environment where it is possible to experience and be a part of a farm as a organism and get the answers not only to how but mainly why some things are as they are and what can be done to help it evolve into a organism.
